Our aim at Chit Chat is to provide an informal church environment for Church women to, not only socialise together but also, invite members of the community, family, friends and work colleagues along. This gives them an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Centre and also hear a little about Christianity.
We generally run 5 events each season usually starting the new programme each Autumn. Each event is held at the Centre on Monday evenings at 8pm with exception of the film night which starts a little earlier at 7.45pm. Usually there is no charge for the event but we do collect for our 'Charity of the Month' - which women are welcome to give to if the wish to do so.
Most evenings we have a demonstrator/presenter followed by a short epilogue.
There is then time for a chat at the end over refreshments in the foyer.
All women are welcome - whether they attend church or not!

The Drawing Room to Peru - with love
Mairi fraser who owns 'The Drawing Room' Gift Shop in Inverness came along to talk about her experiences in Peru with the Vine Trust. She is returning to Peru in 2010 so shared with us what she has done in the past and what their intentions are in 2010. Mairi also brought a selection of items from her shop for us to make purchases...a chance to do some hassle-free Christmas shopping ... after which we enjoyed a 'Chit Chat' over coffee/tea!

Advent Evening
Hilary Lacroix showed us how to make fresh advent wreaths for our homes. We focussed on this special time of year and looked towards the celebration of Jesus' birth.
Hilary and her husband, Thomas, work with the L'Arche Community in Inverness. They make items in the Community and Hilary brought along a selection of candles which we had the opportunity to purchase for gifts & our wreaths! The money raised went to the L'Arche Community.

Post-Christmas Pilates!
Mary Nicolson runs a variety of Pilates classes here at the Centre. Mary came along to give a presentation about Pilates plus there was an opportunity to try it out! Nothing too strenuous and we all enjoyed the experience.

Movie Night: 'The Climb' (2002)
World Wide Pictures and Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoication presents a white-knuckle drama, a friendship between two hotshot climbers with very different styles - one a trailblazer, and the other known as "Safety Man" - escalates into a test of wills, character and sacrifice that pushes both men beyond their limits as they attempt to summit Mount Chicanagua in the Chilean Andes. The movie has excellent reviews and is a must watch for everyone who enjoys action and adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed it at Chit Chat that's for sure!

A 'Kitchen Range' Summer
Louisa from 'Kitchen Range', Dingwall, demonstrated kitchen gadgets from her shop to inspire us for the coming summer season. There were tasters at the end, of the food items she had demonstrated, and opportunity to make purchases of the gadgets used.
This event ended the 2009-2010 season!
